The Kallar Kahar Livelihoods Project initiated in 2021 is a joint effort between Dunya Foundation and Akhuwat Foundation. This project aimed to uplift the livelihoods of individuals residing in Kallar Kahar. Embracing the principles of interest-free microfinance, the project was dedicated to empowering economic prospects and promoting self-sufficiency. Kallar Kahar Livelihoods Project has made significant strides toward its objectives and witnessed a remarkable 100% recovery rate, reflecting the borrowers’ commitment and financial discipline.
The project’s core principles, which include interest-free loans, utilization of religious places, volunteerism, transforming borrowers into donors, and non-discrimination, aim to foster a sense of community participation, accountability, and transparency.
